The Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services Department celebrated the beginning of its 2012 Spring Sports Programs with the annual Opening Day Ceremonies on April 14 at Arrowhead Park.
The program included the introduction of the 30 youth baseball and softball teams, an introduction of the Cheraw Town Council and the Recreation Commission members, remarks by Mayor Andy Ingram, the presentation of the Jimmy Duffy Volunteer Award, and more.
There are more than 300 children involved in the youth baseball and softball leagues this season and they will continue to play through the middle of June.
