CHESTERFIELD — James “Mick” Monroe Gaskins, 68, died April 26, 2012.

Funeral services were held April 29, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family held visitation April 28, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Gaskins was born June 1, 1943, in Chesterfield, a son of the late Herman Jesse and Gladys Elizabeth Burch. He was the owner and operator of G & G Trucking and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Gaskins was preceded in death by his brother, Delbert M. “Mack” Gaskins, and one sister, Charlena Gaskins Keith.

Surviving are two daughters: Teresa Gaskins Niven of Lancaster, S.C., and Ginger Gaskins (Dale) Aubertine of Monroe, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Nicole) Fox, Sable Fox, Danielle (Walter) Ford, Jeffrey Niven, David (Tanya) Nolan, Jess Gainey, and Cory Aubertine; four great grandchildren, Eli, Ray Ray, Jay Jay, and Colt; one sister, Elaine Gaskins (Rick) Williams of Morningview, Ky.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Alma Lilly, Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, and the staff of White Oak Manor in Waxhaw, N.C., for the love and care shown to Mr. Gaskins.
