Minnie McFarland Wilkerson, 90, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 .

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wilkerson was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Sandy and Carrie Woodward McFarland. She was a homemaker and a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Minnie was also preceded in death by her husband, John F. Wilkerson; a son, Sandy Wilkerson; a daughter, Lois W. Trotter; three brothers, Leonard and William McFarland, and Vander Terry; and by three sisters, Ruth Campbell, Bessie Smith, and Agatha Smith.

Survivors include three sons, Wiley (Yvonne) Wilkerson of Asheboro, N.C., and Don Wilkerson and Johnny Wilkerson of Columbia; two daughters, Dale Dority of Columbia and Frances Hill of the home; two sisters, Dorothy Blalock of Greensboro, N.C., and Evelyn Lawes of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
