For the 13th year in a row, North Charleston will host the illustrious event. The pageant will take place Nov. 16 and 17, 2012, at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

“Historic Charleston is a place the friends and families of our contestants love to visit,” said Paula Miles, Executive Director. “Combining a pageant with a weekend getaway near the coast is always a good thing.”

They will be vying for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes as well as the ability to travel the state promoting the pageants and its charitable alliances. They have produced the Miss South Carolina USA Pageant since 1980, the Miss Louisiana USA Pageant since 1990, the Miss North Carolina USA Pageant since 1992, and the Miss Alabama USA Pageant since 2011. In Mrs. Miles’ first year with the Miss Universe Organization, her very first winner, Shawn Weatherly, won the Miss Universe Pageant in Seoul, Korea.
