Thomas Houston Rivers, 22, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at the Chesterfield Ruby Middle School Gymnasium in Chesterfield. Interment will follow in the Thompson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home in Chesterfield.

Mr. Rivers was born Dec. 5, 1989, in Bennettsville, S.C., a son of Christy Roscoe Polson and Lee Thomas “Tommy” Rivers. He was a 2007 graduate of Cheraw High School. Houston enjoyed hunting, playing baseball, music, big trucks, and talking to people. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Carolina Gamecock fan.

Houston was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Davidson Horne and Lee and Ruth Rivers.

Survivors include his m and stepfather, Christy and Robert Polson of Bennettsville; father and stepmother, Tommy and Cindy Rivers of Ruby; three brothers, Ethan, Cade, and Landon Rivers of Ruby; two sisters, Makayla Polson and Jennifer Williams of Bennettsville; grandparents, Eugene and Kathryn Roscoe of Hartsville, Donnie Horne of Ruby, and Veda Polson of Bennettsville; aunts and uncles, Joyce (Frankie) Lide of Cheraw, Buck (Kim) Rivers of Ruby, Koot (Becky Ratliff) Roscoe of Ruby, David (Corrie) Roscoe of Chesterfield, and Missy (Gene) Boyce of Florence; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
