Gwendolyn “Gwen” Hoffman McManus, 58, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Middendorf Baptist Church. The Rev. Eric Plyer, Rev. Jerry McManus, Rev. Ed Griggs, and Rev Don Rhyne will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
The family received friends Thursday, June 28, at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mrs. McManus was born in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Carroll James and Mary Bethune Hoffman. She was a member of Middendorf Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her God, her family, and her church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Greta McManus, and her sister Hilda Crowley.
Surviving are her husband, William Kerry McManus of Middendorf; son, Will McManus of Camden; daughter, Angela McManus Atkinson of Middendorf; grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Atkinson of Middendorf, Carol Denise Atkinson of Middendorf; sister, Renee McDaniel of Middendorf; brothers, Carroll James (Jerry) Hoffman of Darlington, Paschal (Gerrie) Hoffman of Middendorf; brother-in-law, Rev. Jerry Cal (Lisa) McManus of Chesterfield; nephew, Mac McManus of Chesterfield; several other nieces and nephews.
Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home served the family.
