Otis Benjamin Tyler, 83, of Dale City, Va, formerly of Fort Gibson, Okla., died Friday, June 29, 2012, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Ruby Cemetery in Ruby.

Mr. Tyler was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Braggs, Okla., the son of Winfred and Alma Roland Tyler. He lived in Fort Gibson prior to joining the Naval Reserves, and later changing to the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division Headquarters. He later retired from the United States Postal Service.

In addition to his parents, Otis was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Burch Tyler; and his eldest sister, Bronice Tyler Johnson.

Survivors include a son, Barry Burch Tyler of the home amd a sister, Mary Tyler of Albuquerque, N.M.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield (www.mrcfuneralhome.com) is serving the Tyler family.
