Ruth Strait Pace, 79, died Sunday, July 15, 2012.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens in Cheraw.

Born in Rock Hill, Ms. Pace was a daughter of the late James Wallace and Kathleen Canady Strait. She was the widow of William Richard Pace. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 50+ years. Mrs. Pace enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, being a volunteer at Chesterfield General Hospital and working at her church.

Surviving are her son, Rickey (Susie) Pace of Cheraw; daughters, Margaret (Sidney) Wallace of Wallace, Susan (Alan) Lane of Florence; brothers, James E. Strait, Billy E. Strait, Raymond W. Strait, all of Rock Hill; sisters, Betty Jo Byrun of Charlotte, N.C., Doris Bagley and Margaret Mitchell, both of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above and a sisters, Katherine Deas and Frances Vinson.
