Registration for all fall sports will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 1, and will continue through Friday, Aug. 24. Registration hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Cheraw Community Center.

All youth athletic participants are required to purchase department accident insurance for $7, which is good for all sports and programs (Aug. 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013).

All participants must bring a birth certificate and proof of residence to register.

Football

Flag Football 6 – 8 years old, but not 9 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Small Fry 9 and 10 years old, but not 11 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Mite 11 and 12 years old, but not 13 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Fees: $20 for city residents and $40 for out-of-city residents; $7.00 – insurance.

Note: Registration may have to be limited; early registration is encouraged.

Cheerleading

Small Fry 9 and 10 years old, but not 11 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Mite 11 and 12 years old, but not 13 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Soccer

Instructional 5 and 6 years old (must be 5 by Sept. 1st and not 7 before Sept. 1, 2012)

Pee Wee 7 – 9 years old, but not 10 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Mite 10 – 12 years old, but not 13 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Midget 13 – 17 years old, but not 18 before Sept. 1, 2012.

Fees: $20 for city residents and $40 for out-of-city residents; $7.00 – insurance.

Note: If registration is insufficient for separate leagues, age groups will be combined to form mixed leagues.

Adult Fall Softball

The Cheraw Recreation & Leisure Services Department will once again be offering a Fall Adult Softball league at Arrowhead Park. The league is open to men and women, ages 16 and up, with games played on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.

Registration: Aug. 1 - 24

Fee: $ 300 per team

Team Meeting: Thursday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center

Regular Season: Starts on Tuesday, Sept. 4
