Bruce Wayne Steen, 59, died Monday, July 30, 2012.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at The Emmanuel True Gospel Holiness Church in Wallace. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Emmanuel True Gospel Holiness Church in Wallace. Burial will be in the Chavis Family Cemetery.

Born in Marlboro County, Mr. Steen was a son of the late John Neil and Elizabeth Chavis Steen. He was the widower of Vivian Ann Turner Steen. He was a member of True Gospel Emmanuel Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to church.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above, brothers, Charles Steen, James Steen, Bobby Steen, Hampton Steen, Neil Wesley Steen and a sister, Peggy Watson.

Surviving are his daughters, Melissa A. Turner, Pamela M. Steen and Lisa R. Steen, all of Wallace; brothers, Bryant (Geneva) Steen of Wallace, Gary Steen of Wallace; sisters, Kathy Outlaw of Wallace, Nell Byrd of Wallace, Mary Ann (Steve) Moody of Bennettsville, Doris (Jerry) Kennedy of Fayetteville, N.C., Helen (James) Tilley of Cheraw; grandchildren, Timothy, Tristen, Nathaniel, Terrance, Keyrston, and Tanaysha.
