Leslie Eugene Matheson, 93, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Kiser Funeral Home in Cheraw. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends informally at your leisure in the home of Mrs. Rosa Mae Craft.

Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. Matheson was a son of the late John Culpepper and Rosa Mae Tyson Matheson. He had been a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and First Baptist Church during his lifetime. He was a World War II, US Army veteran. Mr. Matheson was a retired from Jackson Oil Company as an accountant.

Surviving are his brother, William “Bill” (Frances) Matheson of Asheville, N.C.; sisters, Rosa Mae Craft of Cheraw, Dorothy (Wilson) Matheson Brown of Irmo; a dear friend, Joyce Sanders and a large number of nieces and nephews.
