Catherine Louise Goodale Davis, 84, of Lancaster, widow of Hobson Bryan Davis Jr. passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Springs Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Aug. 12, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald W. Tillman officiating. Burial was in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family received friends Sunday, August 12, at Lancaster Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Petersburg, Va., a daughter of the late Charlie Noel Goodale and Eula Mae Hawkins Goodale. She was a member of Springdell Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries and loved to travel.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Davis and a brother, Ralph Goodale and her step mother, Irene Gainey Goodale.
Mrs. Davis is survived by three sons, Richard Bryan Davis and his wife, Cathy, Robin Lynn Davis and his wife, Judy, and Jeffery “Jeff” Crawford Davis and his wife, Wendy, all of Lancaster; a daughter, Kathy D. Jones and her husband, Thomas of Great Falls; four brothers, Jerry Goodale and his wife Gail and Donnie Goodale and his wife, Sue, both of Cheraw, W.M. Goodale and his wife, Miriam and Thomas Goodale and his wife, Mary, both of Chesterfield; two sisters, Peggy Morrow of Chesterfield and Elizabeth Goodale of Richmond, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a very special friend and companion for 20 years, Herbert Moree.
