Dear Editor,
At election time, the Democrats always try to scare people into voting for Democrats. They accuse Republicans of wanting to allow polluted water, and dirty air. They make commercials showing Republicans killing senior citizens, restricting medical care and almost everything else negative no matter how preposterous. Republicans drink the same water and eat the same food as Democrats. Their elderly relatives depend on Social Security and Medicare just as much as Democrats do. Do you really think that Republicans would pass laws that would harm themselves and their relatives? The answer is NO. That is just common sense.
The thing that the Democrats do not tell you is that Obama and the Democrats in Congress are spending money faster than it comes into the treasury. Obama is borrowing $.40 of every dollar he spends. Just like when your paycheck runs out and your credit card hits its limit, spending must stop completely. Sooner or later, the Democrats spending spree will end because no other country will loan us money or is large enough to bail the United States out of debt. At that point, America will be bankrupt.
When that happens, who will write your Social Security, WIC, or other government checks. Who will supply your Food Stamps? The answer is simple … NO ONE. When the well goes dry, there is no water left to drink. In this case, when the money runs out, all government assistance to everyone will end. That is the common sense reality of over spending, whether in your family or our government.
Now apply a little common sense to the problem. Even though the Democrats want you to believe that the Republicans are evil and want to do you harm, the Democrats are actually the ones harming you, by continuing to spend money the country does not have. Common sense tells us that it is better to fix the problem before it occurs. For that reason, it is in your best interest to vote Republican in November. The Republicans will find ways to fix our financial problems with the least amount of inconvenience for everyone, while the Democrats will continue to spend until our great country is bankrupt, eliminating government payments that many Americans depend on.

Military spending is our largest expenditure by far. We spend more than the next top 4 or 5 countries spend COMBINED. Much of this spending is a direct result of two wars that were not paid for. The results of these wars AND unchecked spending during the Bush years left our current president with a huge deficit and debt. Keeping the bill for these wars out of the deficit calculations were George Bush's finest trick.
Democrats are shedding light on the facts behind proposed government "entitlement" program changes. Calling this a scare tactic is weak. Neither of these programs is in any danger of collapsing any time soon. They all need to be strengthened, but pretending that there is imminent danger is completely FALSE. The Romney / Ryan plan is by far the worst plan to be presented in decades. Anyone that knows anything about business is aware of the power of volume purchasing. How is it possible that one individual can get better pricing for health care than a group of millions? IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. To say otherwise is completely false. Democrats know this to be true. Anyone that is business-wise knows this to be true. The same principle that makes Wal-Mart the world's largest and strongest retailer also applies to Medicare and Medicaid.
If cutting spending is truly the top priority of the Republican party, then why do they continue to IGNORE the largest expense? Billions could easily cut from the military budget without hindering our defense in any way. Multi-million dollar programs that don't work, equipment not needed or wanted, billions given to defense contractors for shoddy or illegal work.
It's time to stop finger-pointing and get our facts straight.
