Betty Watson Rivers, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at her home.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rivers was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Claude Aaron and Mary Olivia Boatwright Watson. She was a graduate of Chesterfield High School, and was a retired bookkeeper with First Citizens Bank, with 25 years of service. Betty was a life long faithful member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, W. Jack Rivers, her son Olin Rivers, and by her sister-in-law, Lessie Teal Watson.

She is survived by a son, William F. “Frankie” (Glynda) Rivers of Chesterfield, daughter of the heart, Jeannie R. (Mackie) McCormick of Cheraw, daughter-in-law, Wanda Oakley Rivers of Chesterfield, grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother, Rev. J. Bert Watson of Lancaster, very special cousins, uncle, James (Leona) Boatwright of Patrick, aunt, Ophelia B. Simpson of Patrick, also nieces and nephews.
