Lurlene King Toole, died, Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in her home in Columbia.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date and then her burial will be in Lanett, Ala.

Toole was born April 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Bernice McKenzie King and Everette Landrum King in Lanett, Ala. She was preceded in death by her parents. In 1950, she and her husband, James Leon Toole Sr., moved to Cheraw and raised their seven children there. Toole owned and operated a small yarn shop on the corner of Kershaw and Greene Street where she sold knitting supplies and taught knitting lessons.

She is survived by her children, Diane Payne, (Cliff – Deceased), Janet Killalea (Greg), James Leon Toole Jr. (Pam), Michael Toole (Gail), Patricia Toole Boehmke Jusino (Armando), Eric Toole (Celeste) and Phillip Howerton Toole (Maria);13 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren.

In lieu of memorials, the family has requested you keep them in your prayers to help them get through this difficult time.

Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, is assisting the family.
