The Business and Industry Expo held at the Cheraw Community Center last Thursday has been hailed as a tremendous success. “We were very pleased with the turnout and the participation,” said Phil Powell, president of the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce.
Sponsored by Chesterfield General Hospital, the event featured information booths for more than 30 local business and industries in the area. Visitors enjoyed product samples and exchanged innovative ideas. A variety of opportunities to learn were available. For example, representatives from Northeastern Technical College were on hand to talk about career and course offerings. Palmetto Brick company offered a video on the history and process of brick making, and free chair massages were available through Jones Furniture of Cheraw.
“We heard lots of great comments from the public,” said Powell. “People were able to put in job applications and talk with potential employers. It was good thing for the community.”
