Second line umbrellas brightened the streets as music filled the air during the Be-Bop Parade through downtown Cheraw last Saturday morning. The parade was one of the highlights of the South Carolina Jazz Festival, honoring the life and legendary musical career of Cheraw’s native son, John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie.
