Rhoda Ellison of Cheraw has written a play called “Tainted Vows,” and will be directing a debut production of her work at the Theatre on the Green in Cheraw Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
The play, said Ellison, is based on “a marriage that endures the test of time;” despite deception and an overbearing mother-in-law. Her love for writing, she says, “comes naturally.”
“Tainted Vows” is the first in a series of plays that she has written. Ellison is a graduate of Cheraw High School, Francis Marion University and Kings College.
Starring in this production are Regina Brown as Sandra Davis, Cynthia Moore as Deidre Michaels, Sjuan’tu Jackson as Shaun Michaels, Tina Rivers as Eva Madison, and George Boykin as Charles Andrews.
Tickets are $10, and are available in advance from Praise and Faith Gospel Shop, Steven Styles Barber Shop and Tootsies Beauty Salon.
