MT. CROGHAN – Ray “Billy Ray” Wilson, 65, died March 8, 2009.

Funeral services were March 14 at 2 p.m at Angelus Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Jefferson. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Mr. Ray Wilson was the son of the late Thomas and Bernice Sullivan Wilson. He was born on Sept. 19, 1943 in Jefferson. Ray attended the public school system of Chesterfield County. At an early age he joined the Angelus Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Jefferson.

Mr. Ray, known around the neighborhood as “Uncle Bill”.

Ray was proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bernice Wilson; two sisters, Mae Wilson and Betty Lou Wilson.

Surviving are five sisters, Mamie Miller, Elaine Wilson, Vivian McBride all of Mt. Croghan, Justine Harrell (James) of Jefferson and Hester Mae Blakeney of Pageland; four brothers, Tommy Lee Wilson, Jimmy Lee Wilson, Johnny Wilson (Belinda) all of Mt. Croghan and Michael Wilson (Lillie) of Marshville, N.C.; and other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home-Pageland was in charge of arrangements.
