Pathfinders United recently celebrated another successful year, said Cheraw Town Councilman John K. Melton, founder of the community oriented program that has been steadily growing since 2007.

“This year we partnered with the House of Freedom,” said Melton, “to provide toys and fruit for the children.” Volunteers for the organization sponsored a Christmas party last week to distribute those gifts.

Melton’s vision for Pathfinders United is aimed at youth development programs. The group has participated in numerous competitive sporting events over the past several years.

“We plan to keep our efforts alive here in the community,” said Melton. “We believe we are making a difference.”

If you would like to volunteer for this organization, or wish to donate to their efforts, email Melton at melt6983@bellsouth.net.
