Lenard Williams, star athlete and 2008 graduate of Chesterfield High School, has been selected to play in the 2013 South Carolina College All Star Bowl.

Williams played defensive end for Washington State University this past season. His name has emerged from a Watch List of 155 players announced last week. Rosters for the competition will not be finalized until after the first of the year.

Williams will be playing for the Upstate Team, which is defined as north of the I-20 line. The Upstate Team will be coached by Danny Ford, who led Clemson University to the 1981 National Championship.

The Low Country Team will be coached by Willie Jeffries, the legendary retired head coach of South Carolina State University and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
