Reverend Grady J. “Buck” Gulledge, age 79, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, December 31, 2012.

A funeral service was held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Cross Roads Baptist Church.The interment followed in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park. Visitation was from1:30 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2012 prior to the service in the Cross Roads Family Life Center.

Rev. Gulledge was born February 11, 1933, in Ruby, SC, a son of the late Jake and Mary Tucker Gulledge. He was former owner and operator of Buck’s Upholstery for 38 years. He was an U.S. Army Paratrooper during the Korean War. Rev. Gulledge was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church from 1960 - 1982 and served as R.A. Leader, Brotherhood Director, and Deacon. He served as Chaplain of the Chesterfield County Detention Center, and Freedom Prision Chapel from 1977 - 2010. Bro. Buck was a former member and Chairman of the Board of the Good Samaritan Colony. In February of 1983, Bro. Buck was ordained into the Ministry, and received his Master of Divinity Degree from Mid-Atlantic Bible College in May of 1984. Rev. Gulledge was pastor of Douglas Mill Baptist Church from November, 1982 - April, 1991; Oakland Baptist Church from October 1991 - June 2005, and was Pastor of the Mt. Croghan Baptist Church from February, 2006 - October, 2010. Bro. Buck was very active in the Chesterfield Baptist Association, where he served as former RA Director and Brotherhood Director, and also served on the Missions Development Committee. He was active in many mission trips throughout the years both national and international. His main passion was preaching the Gospel of God’s Amazing Grace, and winning the Lost to Jesus. In addition to his parents, Preacher Buck was also preceded in death by his brother, Shirley Gulledge; and sister, Wanda G. Sellers.

Rev. Gulledge was survived by his wife of 58 years, Kay Taylor Gulledge of the home, 2 sons: Ricky (Kenneth) Gulledge of Mt. Croghan, and Chip Gulledge of Mt. Croghan, 2 daughters: Sherry (Tony) Johnson of Mt. Croghan, and Lisa Griggs of Mt. Croghan, son of the heart: David Griggs of Chesterfield,7 grandchildren: Jake (Crystal) Johnson, Matt Griggs, Lindsey Johnson, Kayla Griggs, Carly Gulledge, Ryan Poston, and Corey Adams.
