Northeastern Technical College will hold FAFSA Day on Saturday, Feb. 23, to help individuals planning on going to college in the fall.
Financial aid professionals will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 500 building, room 540, at the main campus in Cheraw to assist returning and prospective students in completing the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. NETC will also make available to the public a computer lab where FAFSA forms can be completed and submitted online.
“Now is the time to begin the financial aid process for fall semester,” said Sheryll Marshall, NETC’s coordinator of financial assistance. “By filling out a FAFSA form early, students are more likely to get a better financial aid package and avoid delays.”
Marshall said the steps for applying for financial aid are fairly simple.
“Many students and parents may need help getting their paperwork in order. We want to help walk you through the process so you can get the money you need to start your pathway to a college degree,” Marshall said.
Students and/or parents will need to have with them on FAFSA Day a copy of their 2012 federal tax return and W2 forms. This information will be used to complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA form and determine eligibility.
