CHERAW – Mr. Ted A. Whitaker, 67, died April 29, 2009.
Memorial services were at 10 a.m. May 2, at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Friday at Stewart and Cindy Gibson’s home in Chesterfield.
Mr. Whitaker was born Sept. 1, 1941 in Kannapolis, N.C. a son of the late Alonzo Leslie and Callie Bowden Whitaker. He was a retired painter and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Ted was preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron and Gene Whitaker; and by a sister Bonnie Gainey.
Surviving is a son, Ronald (Millie) Rowan of Wadesboro; two daughters, Melissa (Chris) Clark and Teresa (Tony) Gulledge of Chesterfield; three brothers, Theron Whitaker of Concord, N.C., James “Bill” (Faye) Whitaker of Tega Cay, and Bobby S. (Brenda) Whitaker of Glencoe, KY; three grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
