Several little ones of Mrs. Cato Kind’s Cheraw Primary class received new school supplies that were sponsored and delivered by members of “ The Pathfinders United” last Tuesday morning.
“We currently have 35 members today. In Jan. of.2008, we co-sponsored a youth basketball team along with the Boys and Girls Club of Cheraw,” said Melton.
The 501 (c) organization; recently sponsored and delivered new school supplies to Mrs. Cato Kind’s classroom of students at Cheraw Primary, providing them with paper, pens, and other needed items.
The Pathfinders United has been enhancing the lives of young men and the youth within the community since 2007. It all began with the vision of one man, Melton, who holds compassion to help others.
In March of 2007, Melton decided to ask five of his closest friends to meet annually for fellowship. Stemming from that first gathering, Melton presented a proposal to his friends about developing an organization to help young men in the community.
“We will continue to strive to keep our efforts alive here in the community and hope that we make an impact on the lives of others,” Melton added.
It was in July of 2007 that Melton’s vision truly became a reality. The original six members then became the staff and without further adieu, The Pathfinders United was formed. The idea grew and caught on, and today, The Pathfinders United organization includes not only the original six members but also acquired seven new members in Sept. 2007 as well.
