Recently, U.S. Postal representatives from Columbia hosted a public meeting regarding the proposed project, which allowed the citizens of Cheraw an opportunity to voice their concerns on the matter. During the Oct. 7 Postal Service public meeting held at the Cheraw Community Center, S.C. A tentative date for that trip is scheduled, according to Vick. In other business: Council also unanimously passed a resolution for the Local Option Sales Tax Credit Factor for the fiscal year ending in June 2010, which, means an annual tax credit of $22.12 per each $10,000 in appraised value of real and personal property. Due to the fact that the town's rental uniform contract is set to end in December of his year, five rental uniform companies were sent bid specifications and four companies' submitted proposals. A committee was formed of those departments that use rental uniforms. The bid was awarded to Rental Uniforms, Florence, S.C. in the amount of $177.53.
