CHERAW – Deacon Woodrow Harrington, 86, died Dec. 1, 2009.

Funeral services were at Grooms Funeral Home and Memorial Chapel, Cheraw. Interim Pastor Sheila Williams, presiding; Elder Ottis W. Graham, eulogist. Burial was held in Florence National Cemetery.

Woodrow was born April 29, 1923 to the late Priscilla Gillespie and Thomas Harrington. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and always wore military caps and was proud of his service to his country. He married the late Laura Fuller, after his military service was completed. He worked at Brazen Brickyard in Cheraw and Ina Bearing Company, Cheraw. Deacon Woodrow was a member of St. Luke Believers Holiness Church. He enjoyed Sunday school and loved to hear the word of God read. He was a member until his death.

He was preceded in death by 11 siblings, Leroy Hillard, Howard and Herbert, Annie, Hattie, Gertrude, Minnie Mae, Mary and an unknown sister, Ethel Williams, Betsy Williams, Brenda Williams, and Albert Williams.

Surviving is a daughter, Johnnie Mae (Clarence Emanuel Scott) Ford; siblings, Floyd (Ola) Williams, and Berinice (Timothy) Hook; grandchildren, Horace (Kelly) Boatwright, Nora Boatwright Harris, John Curtis Boatwright, Ernestine (Kenny) Porter; great-grandchildren, Elijah Waring, Ashley Harris, Corey and Carly Boatwright, Courtney Boatwright, Kenisia Porter, Kedeem Porter, Kijah Porter, and other relatives and friends.

Grooms Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Peggy Ann Robinson

PAGELAND – Peggy Ann Robinson, 53, died Nov. 25, 2009.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at Grooms Funeral Home and Memorial Chapel. Evangelist Eva Mae Miller officiating. Burial was held in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pageland.

Peggy was the daughter of the late Leonard Robinson and the late Ethel Mae Robinson, born Aug. 27, 1956.

She was educated in Chesterfield County public school system. She attended Salem United Methodist Church in Pageland, in her early years and later attended Rocky Branch Baptist Church.

Peggy was preceded in death by a brother, James Thomas “J.T.” Funderburk, Sr., the aunt who raised her, Alice Victoria Robinson Funderburk and a cousin, Betty Jean “Bett” Robinson.

Surviving are two daughters, Erica Michelle Ford of Marion and Carlotta Ann Ford of Salisbury; a son, Ellis Jermaine Robinson (Renee) of Salisbury, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jeffery Hannah, Jesseca Hannah, Jakayla Hannah and Jamie Ford all of Marion, Shyheim Robinson and Shavarius Robinson of Salisbury, N.C.; a brother, Willie Junior Robinson (Doris) of Ruby; two sisters, Sallie Ann Gibbs (Lonnie) of Columbus, Ga., Jeanette Merritt (William) of Lilesville, N.C.; four aunts, Helen Marshall of Fort Mill, Aline McCray, Dorothy Clyburn and Inez Thomas, all of Pageland; and other relatives and friends.

Grooms Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
