Patrick Christmas Parade will be Dec. 12 at 11 a.m. Float judging winners will be announced after the parade at the festival field in the following places: first place - $100; second place - $75 and third place - $50. donation. Walk-ins are welcome. Please make sure you eat and drink plenty of water before coming. Please make sure you bring identification such as driver’s license or blood donor card. All donors will be automatically be enter in a drawing for one of three pairs of Roundtrip Delta Trip Airline Tickets and get a Red Cross water bottle!

The Greater Pee Dee Animal Rescue invites you to join us in our monthly meetings that are held at the Harvest Community Daycare and Church located on Hwy 9, beginning at 7 p.m. Our meetings are open to the public and everyone interested in animal welfare in the Pee Dee area is welcome to come to our meetings. Attention:” Purple Heart Veterans of any War”

The Wallace Community Prayer Group meets the second Friday of each month at Wallace Elementary Middle School front parking lot. The prayer time is scheduled for 6 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

UDC seeks new members

The South Carolina Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy, is working on chartering a new UDC chapter in the Cheraw/Bennettsville area. We have three women who are interested in starting this chapter. We need seven prospects to apply for a charter.

If you know of any women (your wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, cousins, aunts, etc.) who might be interested in being a charter member of this new chapter, please write to: firstinsecession@hotmail.com for more information.

The application fee is $40 and it is not paid until the application is actually submitted.
