MT. CROGHAN – Ms. Clara Stancil Jenkins, 86, died Dec. 12, 2009.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Dec. 14, at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation followed the service in the Church Family Life Center.

Ms. Jenkins was born Feb. 16, 1923 a daughter of the late James Bennett and Bertha Steen Stancil. She was a retired employee of Chesterfield Manufacturing Co. Ms. Jenkins was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Clara was preceded in death by two brothers, William P. “Dobber” Stancil and Funderburk Stancil

Surviving are three daughters, Mary E. Jenkins of the home; Ann Jenkins of Raleigh, N.C., and Jean (Ronnie) Chambers of Mt. Croghan; two grandsons, Lee Chambers of Greenville and Shaun Chambers of Mt. Croghan; two sisters, Lee Hancock of Mt. Croghan, and Reba Stancil of Cheraw.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield was in charge of arrangements.
