SOCIETY HILL – William “June” Scott, 74, died Jan. 8, 2010.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Jan. 14 at Bethesda Baptist Church, Society Hill. Burial was held in Montrose Cemetery.

William was born Nov. 17, 1935 to the late Anderson William and Mildred Scott. He was known as “Soul Dog”. At an early age he became a member of Greater Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Delta Mills in Wallace and retired after 35 years. William was married to the late Dorothy Ellerbe Scott.

Surviving are two daughters, Mildred Scott and Franchisca (DeAndre) Colemen of Society Hill; nine sons, June Scott of Philadelphia, Pa., Roger (Myrtle) McClain of Cheraw, Alexander (Luberta) Scott of Society Hill, Ezekiel (Pandora) Scott and David (Felicia) Scott of Darlington, Michael Scott of Society Hill, Mike Hudley of Baltimore, MD, Elison (Fatish) Scott of Columbia, and Lincoln Scott of Fayetteville, N.C.; an aunt, Janie Make Kinley of Society Hill; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also Dorothy (Clayton) McDonald and other relatives and friends.

Grooms Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
