CHERAW – There is nothing greater than when people within a community pull together for a worthy cause no matter where it may be. This holds true for Maranatha Family Center Pastor, Allen Usher and the Chesterfield County for Jesus Team, located on Gopher Hill Road, has created and released their first debut of a new CD titled, “Chesterfield County for Jesus”.

“We are sending a message about Jesus Christ to others in hope that it will touch the hearts of those who may not know the Lord. This is not for show nor is the new CD for sale. It is not for profit. It is just for God and the people,” said Usher.

Last week, about 1,000 copies of the new CD were released and are currently being given away free of charge to those who simply request it. Usher said the CD serves as a reminder to all Christians to always pray for Chesterfield County.

“We are pulling people together to reach out to a lost world for Christ. The way the world is now, with all of the crime and fighting in other countries, we are the last hope our children and future generations have left in coming to know God,” stressed Usher. It is an extraordinary example of the Christian love that flowed from the people who participated in this endeavor for Christ. We want it to have a “domino effect,” said Usher. He stressed he also has sent copies of the CD to South Carolina state leaders and law enforcement in the county.

“Our State House Rep. Ted Vick has been asset in distributing the CD into the hands of our political leaders throughout South Carolina. We want to get one to President Obama in Washington, D.C., as well,” said Usher.

Ken Rivers, owner of RiverGlo Productions in Cheraw and Usher, along with Lt. Col. Crawford Moore of Cheraw and others, have devoted his or her time in compiling this one-of-a-kind work for God. The CD features River’s hit song, “Pray for our Soldiers” and other inspirational songs and special prayers from state and local leaders. Various scriptures read or quoted from the Bible highlights the foundation for the entire project. The CD is also being sent to the troops over in Iraq and across the globe.

One particular song on the CD titled, “Pray for our Soldiers” was the military song that was composed and sung by Ken Rivers, owner of RiverGlo Productions in Cheraw. “It was used by CNN during a documentary on the Persian Gulf War at that time,” Rivers added.

Usher said, “The purpose of this CD is to help others learn about Jesus Christ. Spreading the Word of God is our ultimate goal.”

“I pray it will get in the hands of the people who understand that our soldiers need prayer. We feel that God is going to use this tool to help turn people back to the Lord. It is not about race or issues, it is all about bringing all people together to the same focal point of serving God,” said Rivers. Rivers added that he gives all of the credit to God for the success of the CD.

The CD features special prayers by Pastor Allen Usher, Pastor Jeff Hart, Pastor Darin Coleman, Pastor Ronnie Grizzle, Lt. Col. Crawford Moore, S.C. Rep. Ted Vick, Deputy Harold Cooke, Pastor Keith Hinson, Director Vernelle Swinton of Connie Maxwell Children’s Home and Pastor Doug Anderson.

“We have faith that all of the prayers and the music on the CD will help bring unity to this county,” Usher said. Usher and the Chesterfield County for Jesus Team feel that if prayers are raised up to God for all pastors and churches, President Obama and national leaders, military, soldiers, jobs, law enforcement and firefighters, families, abused children and spiritual revival for all, were lifted up to God daily, this nation could get back on track where it should be, and that is with God.

“I give all credit to God for allowing this to come about and plans are in the works to have more CDs produced in the near future, which will also be freely distributed,” concluded Usher.
