Abbigail Jefferson Armstong completed her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree and was conferred on May 17, 2010 at Gardner-Webb University in Boling Springs, N.C. Abbigail is a 1991 Chesterfield High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Winthrop University in 1995 and a Master’s of Education degree in Middle Level Education in 2002. She taught 7th and 8th grade middle school mathematics for 10 years before accepting an instructor position at Winthrop University. She is now an Assistant Professor at Middle Level Education. Dr. Armstrong is the daughter of Sarah and the late Captain Jefferson. She resides in Gastonia with her husband, Caldwell Jerome Armstrong and a daughter, Asheland.
