WALLACE – Emmett Franklin Kimrey, 66, died June 28, 2010.

Funeral services were held July 1, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church followed with burial in the church cemetery.

Emmett was the son of Beatrice Grant Kimrey and the late Johnnie F. Kimrey. He was a member of Southwood Pentecostal Holiness Church in Rockingham, N.C. Emmett was the delivery manager at Lowe’s in Rockingham and was a former longtime employee of Kimrey’s Produce Company in Cheraw. He enjoyed gardening and hunting and was a member of the Cash Lake Hunting Club and the AMVET Chapter in Wallace. Emmett was dedicated to God and his family.

Surviving is his wife, Roger Driggers Kimrey of the home; his mother, Beatrice Grant Kimrey of Wallace; his children, Jimmy Kimrey and his wife, Tanya of Garden City, Mary McLain and her husband, Kenneth of Wallace, and Holly Haire and her husband, Don of Cheraw; brothers, Cecil Kimrey and his wife, Shelby, and Julian Kimrey and his wife, Dena, all of Wallace; sisters, Saundra Kimrey, and Wilma Smith and her husband, J.C., all of Wallace; grandchildren, Joshua, Micah, Cody, Caleb, Elisha, Abigail, Aiden, Ellissa Rae, and Emily Grace.

Norton Funeral Home of Cheraw was in charge of arrangements.
