RUBY – Mr. Frederick Russell “Freddie” Raffaldt, 41, died Aug. 7, 2010.

Funeral services were at 12 p.m. Aug. 11, at Thompson Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 10 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

Mr. Raffaldt was born Oct. 10, 1968 in Chesterfield, SC a son of the late Fred Robert Raffaldt and Nellie Loretta Melton Sims. He was a carpenter, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Freddie was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and attended Thompson Creek Baptist Church.

Freddie was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Edward Sims, Jr. and by a sister, Teresa Heun.

Surviving is his wife, Sue Wisniewski Raffaldt of the home; two sons, Eric (Kimberly) Raffaldt and Alex Raffaldt of Norwood, N.C.; a daughter, Candice Raffaldt of Norwood, N.C.; a stepson, Zack White of Jacksonville, N.C.; a grandson, Dylan Raffaldt; a step-grandson, Sonny Furr; a stepmother, Mary Raffaldt of Chesterfield; a stepfather, Thomas E. Sims of Ruby; a brother, Robert (Pam) Raffaldt of Norwood, N.C.; four sisters, Mary Ann (David) Smith of Norwood, N.C., Cynthia (Steve) Holden of Chesterfield, Robin Scott and fiancé, Richard Loftin of Albemarle, N.C., and Susan (Jimmy) Conklin of Ruby; a grandmother, Ruby Raffaldt of Chesterfield; and other relatives and friends.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
