Wallace – Earlier this year, Faith Temple Church located at 4044 Delta Heights Road in Wallace received a new pastor, Evangelist Deloris Pearson. For many years, her involvement included both location and international humanitarian missions, working with diplomats and Presidents of African and European nations, while carrying the message of Jesus Christ in word and song. Her mission work also includes planting churches in the United States and overseas. She has made her presence known in the surrounding areas and has been embraced by civic, community and religious leaders.

Pastor Pearson's ministry continues to make a difference in the lives of many. The members of Faith Temple and the Delta Heights community are excited about what God is doing in their lives, and catch the vision of growing in unity as a church with the desire to serve.

One goal is to implement and promote various community projects that aid local families and individuals. Since starting her pastorate in February 2010, Pastor Pearson has completed her first Rehab project for an elderly resident. “We are living out our vision, to do what God wants us to do. Working with local contractors, we replaced widows, repaired roof leaks, flooring, electrical upgrades and completed other structural repairs,” Pearson said. “The project took approximately 30 days to complete. The 85-year old window of the home said, “I've lived in this house for almost 55 years, and I thought that I would never live to see hardwood floors and vinyl siding on my home.”

Pearson wants to invest in people. “We are a non-profit organization that utilizes grants, monetary and tangible gifts, donations and other resources that equip us to do Kingdom work. Encouraging our youth through collegiate scholarships and grants, foreign student exchange programs, lifetime skills training, conflict resolution, substance abuse prevention, and promoting overall success is another goal. The most important part of our ministry is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ... the greatest hope.”

“We are a family in love with God and each other as He has commanded us. All are welcome to become part of our church family. We are an all nations, every color and creed church,” Pearson said. “Our attire is come as your are. It is a new beginning, a new day and we are doing it a new way.”

“We are also interested in those who will come and serve on a praise team of singers, dancers, musicians of all types of instruments, percussionists and administrators to get involved with this great new beginning ministry,” Pearson said. “We are looking forward to meeting you.”

Faith Temple worship service includes Sunday school from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., and morning worship starts at 11:30 a.m. Regular and special events are announced in the local newspaper and radio station calendars.
