CHESTERFIELD — Green River Country Club was standing room only as close to 300 classmates and guests from as far away as Colorado, Ohio and West Virgina  gathered for the first Chesterfield High School Memories of Purple and Gold Reunion.

The Oct. 9 reunion was created as a way for all of the graduates and attendees of the old Chesterfield High to come together and remember the days when the school colors were purple and gold.

Classmates and formal principals reunited for the event. Dr. William Perry, of Chesterfield was the oldest graduate present representing the class of 1929.

Other distinguished guests included former principal Russell McDonald, former teachers Frances McRae, of Florence, S.C., Ann Rivers, Selma Henderson, Elizabeth (Punk) Rivers, of Chesterfield, and coaches, Dr. James Jenkins, of Georgia, and Bill Matthews, of Chesterfield.
