“MEET THE PIONEERS” FALL WALKING TOUR

WHAT: Come and join us for our 1st annual “Meet the Pioneers” Fall Cemetery Walking Tour at Foundry Hill Cemetery. We will learn about the contributions of local African Americans and where they are buried. Mr. Ted Bradley a caretaker of the cemetery and Felicia Flemming-McCall will be the tour guides. We will meet you at the front of the cemetery on Marion Street. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along your book, African Americans of Chesterfield County if you like. Tour Cost-Adults $8 and Children 5-18, are $5.

ANNUAL CHESTERFIELD COUNTY CHRISTMAS PARADE

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Main Street Downtown Chesterfield

WHAT: The theme of this year’s parade is “Every Day is a Gift.” Churches, civic groups and businesses are encouraged to enter “homemade” floats with lighting being encouraged. Best float prizes will be awarded as follows: grand prize - $300, second place - $200 and third place - $100. The grand prize winner will also receive a trophy to keep until next year’s parade.
