Albert E. “Gene” Davis, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012.

Funeral services were held Oct. 26, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment followed in the Chesterfield Cemetery, with full military honors.

Visitation was held Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Davis was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Chesterfield, a son of the late George Abner and Leoda Leard Davis. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School. Davis was a retired Command Sergeant Major with 39 years and 10 months of service, having served during the Korean War. He received numerous awards and citations before his retirement in 1993. Davis was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, G. A. Davis, and by his sister, Jenny D. Wallace.

Survivors include a wife: Gloria Stewart Davis of the home, one daughter: Tammy Davis of Chesterfield, one stepson: Robbie (Molly) Rose of Chesterfield, one stepdaughter: Debra Rose (Dave) McNamer of West Columbia, two grandchildren: Colie Davis and Callie Quick and a host of nieces and nephews.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, is serving the family.
