Five homes and two churches from three centuries are featured on the St. David’s School Holiday Home Tour on Dec. 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Cheraw. Advance tickets are $12. Day of tour tickets are $15 and may be purchased at St. David’s Church on Market Street.
The tour includes: The Teacherage c. 1770 features garlands of dried fern, magnolia, and smilax in a setting of southern antiques; 324 Green St. built in the early 1900’s, features a number of handmade items; the fine Queen Anne at 405 Church Street was built 1904; the old Erasmus Powe house at 143 McIver Street was probably built in 1794 and features original carvings, and the home was the personal headquarters of Gen. W. T. Sherman in 1865; the Long House, c. 1923, on Third Street features an outstanding kitchen as well as an eclectic collection of antiques and transitional pieces.
All of the properties will be decorated in their holiday finery.
Also featured on the tour are new St. David’s c. 1916 with its noted stained glass windows and Old St. David’s on Church Street, c. 1770.
