Joe Neil Ford Sr., 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield. An entombment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with full military honors.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.
Ford was born July 3, 1935, in Charlotte, N.C., a son of the late Joe Nick and Mable Freeman Ford. He was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and attended Chesterfield-Marlboro TEC. Ford was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service, and served during the Vietnam War. He was also was the former owner and operator of Joe and Dee Nashville South. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his wife Delores “Dee” Holtzclaw Ford, a son, Robbie Bruce Ford, a brother, Carl Pete (Edna) Ford and by a sister, Margaret (Jay) Redder.
Ford is survived by his son, Joe Neil (Shelly) Ford Jr. of Lancaster, a daughter, Lisa Ford Jolly of Jefferson, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and a sister, Colleen Morrison of Powder Springs, Ga.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, is serving the family.
