Six people were arrested Sunday, Dec. 2, for the distribution of counterfeit items at the Mt. Croghan Flea Market; items with brand names like Ugg, Timberland, Nike, Casio and NFL.
According to incident reports from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, local deputies were told by the Secretary of State’s office to investigate the possibility of counterfeit merchandise being sold at the flea market. Deputies met with the state’s Chief Investigator Doug Renew and then proceeded to take a look around at the various items for sale.
According to lawmen, the following people were arrested in the bust:
James Earle Ferguson, 66, of Red Springs, N.C., was arrested for “having numerous types of shoes for sale.”
William Antoine Thigpen, 48, of Charlotte, was arrested for “having numerous DVD’s and music CD’s for sale.”
Chadwick Daniel Marsh, 31, of Chesterfield, was arrested for “having numerous DVD’s and music CD’s for sale.”
Robert Lee Shivers, 55, of Lancaster, was arrested for “having numerous watches and sunglasses for sale.”
William Perry McGuinn, 41, of Cheraw, was arrested for “having numerous watches and sunglasses for sale.”
And Chandler Spencer, 50, of Hartsville, was arrested for “having numerous DVD’s for sale.”
