Charlie Wesley Parker, 92, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 17, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Wallace. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield.

Parker was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Bennettsville, a son of the late Hutson and Farebee Scott Parker. He was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens with 42 years of service. Parker was a faithful member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Purvis Driggers Parker, and second wife, Novella English Driggers; one daughter, Rhonda Parker Shaw; three brothers, Henry, Fred, and John Parker; and by one sister, Elizabeth Grant.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Johnson of Chesterfield, one son, Rev. Curtis C. (Susie) Parker of Kannapolis, N.C., one daughter, Sarah P. (Jimmy) Dotson of Cheraw; six grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, is serving the family.
