Bessie Lee McIntyre Burr, 76, formerly of Chesterfield, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 30, at Oakland Baptist Church Chesterfield. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday, Dec. 29, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chesterfield.
Burr was born June 8, 1936, in Chesterfield, a daughter of the late Sydney Perry and Lula Mae Tarlton McIntyre. She was a homemaker and member of Oakland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Burr was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Avery Burr; one son, Timothy Burr; and one daughter, Rillie Smith.
She is survived by two sons: Glenn (Roxana) Burr of Laurinburg, N.C., and George (Terry) Burr of Chesterfield, three daughters: Jackie (Lloyd) Sanderson of Teachey, N.C., Tammy (Richard) Blackmon of Kershaw, and Darlene (Joel) Freeman of Chesterfield, one brother: Randolph (Sarah Belle) McIntyre of Ruby, one sister: Ruth (Robert) Heustess of Patrick, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, is serving the family.
