A Christmas Eve slaying in neighboring Darlington has prompted the arrest of four men already, and authorities say they are still looking for Jason Jones, on charges of murder. Jones is believed to be armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts, or any other information connected with this crime, is asked to call the Darlington Police Department at 843-398-4096.
According to Sgt. Kimberly Nelson, five men stormed in and took over the home of Antwain Jones, 38, in the 100 block of Coker Street in Darlington around 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve, robbed and killed him.
Each man is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, attempted murder and armed robbery. Those in custody for this crime include Jonathan Wesley McCall, 24; Kiarand Myron Bonaparte, 22; and Reginald Danyall Smith, 21, police said.
Michael Rashawn Jackson, 25, was the fourth person arrested, according to police. He was picked up by the Fulton City Police in Atlanta Dec. 30, on unrelated charges. Authorities said Jackson gave several different names when he was arrested, but as soon as his fingerprints were put into the system they learned his real name and that he was wanted for murder in Darlington County.
