The Cheraw Arts Commission presents “The World of Anansi the Spider” by the Columbia Marionette Theatre on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Theatre on the Green.
This performance is geared for young audiences (pre-school+) and will begin at 10:30 a.m.
“The World of Anansi the Spider” educates children about world culture and features several folk tales narrated by the storyteller Anansi. Anansi is a classic character featured in African tales which descended to other cultures, such as Jamaican and Gullah.
Established in 1988, the Columbia Marionette Theatre has established itself as a premiere children’s theatre in South Carolina. Its mission is to entertain and educate children and adults through the long-standing tradition and artistry of puppetry.
Admission is $5 at the door.
