Strong wind gusts blew debris off the roof of the dilapidated Family Fashion building on Market Street in Cheraw on Friday morning and onto the sidewalk. Some of the debris ended up in the street.

Hoping to eliminate the dangers of debris falling on someone, or causing an accident, town employees collaborated with the Cheraw Fire Department and used the ladder truck to send employees on the roof to remove as much loose material as possible.
