On your mark, get set, hunt! The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services Department will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Caston Park.
According to Lisa O’Neal, assistant director for the recreation department, more than 1,000 eggs will be hidden in the park that day. Participants should have baskets in hand and be ready to begin hunting at “6 p.m. SHARP!”
O’Neal recommends egg hunters be in line by 5:55 p.m. to avoid missing out on the hunt. “The eggs go fast!” she said.
The egg hunt will be divided into two age brackets. Children age five and under will make up one group, and the other age group ranges from six to nine. In order to participate, parents should pick up a “FREE HUNTING LICENSE” from the Cheraw Community Center at 200 Powe Street, between 8 a.m and 5 p.m., prior to the event. Licenses must be presented before the hunt in order to have a chance to win the cash prizes.
“Come and get a hug from our special visitor - the Easter Bunny,” said O’Neal, “enter the drawing for cash prizes, and enjoy games for the kids.”
A rain-date has been set for March 22, at 6 p.m. at Caston Park. For more information call the recreation department at 843-537-8420.
