The University of South Carolina will hold an open forum March 19 at Northeastern Technical College to discuss the educational needs of the community and ways to eliminate obstacles that prevent people from pursuing an education.
Lemuel Watson, College of Education dean at USC, will lead the forum titled “The Promise of Education: Transforming Individuals, Families and Communities.” Several educational partners, including Sen. Gerald Malloy, NETC President Ron Bartley and Chesterfield County Superintendent Harrison Goodwin, will join the open exchange of information about educational needs at the local and state level.
Ray Tomasco, managing partner of consulting firm reesmarx, will also discuss the NETC Entrepreneurship Development Fund, a grant established to foster job growth and assist aspiring entrepreneurs in achieving their career dreams.
Sponsored by USC, the forum will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 19 in the auditorium at NETC’s main campus in Cheraw. Light refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
