Shirley Jean Plyler Wright, 73, of Lancaster, widow of the late James “Jim” Wright, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at her home.

A funeral service was held Sunday, July 1, at 3 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Cliff Henson and Rev. Thurmond Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4967 Pageland Hwy., Lancaster.

Mrs. Wright was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Lancaster, a daughter of Nae Plyer and the late Ernestine Hollins Blackmon. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was an avid cat and animal lover.

Mrs. Wright is survived by two sons, Dennis “PY” Wright of Charlotte and Clay Wright of Lancaster; two daughters, Donna Rollings and her husband Tony of Lancaster and Julie Bowers and her husband Eddie of Heath Springs; one brother, Marion Plyer and his wife Sue of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Trey Rollings his wife Erin, Eric Bowers and his wife Heather, and Mark Bowers and his wife Kristen; and three great grandchildren, Landon Rollings, Hannah Rollings, and Eoin Bowers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church, 6437 Oak Hill Church Road, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
