Mary Alice Covington Cash, died, Aug. 22, 2012.

Flemming Funeral Home assisted the family during this time.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas Covington and the late Geneva Melton Church, born on June 6, 1942. During her journey here on earth Mary, or Mause, as her family and close friends called her was educated in Chesterfield County school system. She married the late Horace June Cash. The couple was blessed with six children, two preceded her in death; baby Ronnie Cash and Willie Detroit Cash.

She leaves to carry on her wonderful legacy daughters, Ollivee Melton of Ruby, Tonnette Cash of Charlotte, N.C., Shelia Cash of Cheraw, and Coletha Hooks of Cheraw, son-in-laws, Anthony Hooks of Cheraw, and Wanda Cash of Columbia, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, eight siblings, Gracie Lee Melton of Chesterfield, Charles Webster (Judy Miller) of Monroe, N.C., James Clinton Melton (Nellie Mae Nivens) of Mt. Croghan, Gerald Ray Melton (Hattie) of Pageland, Gloria Little of Charlotte, N.C., Mary Melton of Mt. Croghan, Ronnie Melton of Pageland, and Florence Melton of Mt. Croghan, three sister-in-laws, Teresa Fletcher, Mildred Ratliff and Louise Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary was a wonderful friend to all but two had a very special place in her heart, her special friends Moses Walls and Lorraine Bridges both of whom she cherished with all her heart.
